Benefits Manager, Health & Welfare – Fort Lauderdale

Our client is a publicly held, automotive retailer with over 25,000 employees across 16 states. With numerous accolades and the spotlight continuing to shine on them, including selling their 6 millionth vehicle in March 2007, they have engaged us to recruit their next Benefits Manager, Health & Welfare (Manager).

This position will be located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida at their corporate headquarters. This position will report to the Director, Benefits Contracts & Plan Performance with visibility and a working relationship with the VP Benefits.

Additional Responsibilities:
* Manage and monitor health and welfare vendors' compliance to contract provisions and performance guarantees; draft and review new contract provisions with vendors to ensure compliance
* Analyze benefit programs and products to develop business plan recommendations to meet company business needs; delivering strategies that are both cost effective and the highest quality to the associates
* Negotiate renewals with vendors within budget projections
* Develop RFPs, evaluate and assist in the selection of vendors, carriers and insurers
* Lead role in validation, completion of and data submission for government filings
* Responsible for all compliance filings on behalf of the benefits department

Ideal Candidate:
* Bachelor's degree required
* 7 - 10 years experience managing health and welfare benefits programs (fewer years experience will be reviewed individually)
* Ambitious, self-motivated and team player
* Strong project management experience, presentation and negotiation skills
* Experience with laws, regulations and government policy related to H&W benefit programs (well versed with ERISA)
* Experience in M&A benefits due diligence and divestitures
